another postcard from bodhi

i just finished scribbling out a postcard to duff:

dear mistress duff,

we are now in albequerque, nm. we drove for two days to get here, but i couldn't see too much because most of the time my new friend, paddy, and i were in a dark little bag with the camera. i do know that we must have passed a lot of cattle feeding lots because i could scents it.

today we went over to the petroglyph national monument and got to see how the ancient indians left emails for each other hundreds of years ago. tomorrow will be a new year and we will head back to kansas city.

your dear friend,
bodhi

i'm number one!

according to statcounter, i'm the top result for bodhi.

i'd like to thank the academy for this honor. now, if i could just get the order to notice me...though i suppose that getting noticed is tough when you're only four inches tall.

anyway, that's all for this dispatch from kansas city. in about a week, i'll be on my way to new mexico for the holidays.

one from the road

i'm writing this from kansas city, where i'm staying with duff's dad before our big road trip to new mexico for christmas. (states #34-36 on my list will be oklahoma, texas, and new mexico.)

anyway, i've finally had time to thaw out from the wyoming trip. even with my scarf, -2 degrees felt pretty darned cold.

on the way out to wyoming, i managed to pick up state #33: georgia. (did i actually take any pictures? good question. give me just a moment to flip through my photos...)

ah, here they are:

the denver airport was slightly more interesting- duff got a little photo happy, but thankfully, she agreed to photograph me (and a few friends) in front of a few points of interest:

after picking up our luggage (i had only my scarf and my frosty beverage) we drove up to ft. collins for dinner at the armadillo.

after dinner, we got back on the road for the two hour drive up to lingle, wyoming. we stopped in rural wyoming for a quick bathroom break. (i didn't need to go- it was too cold for me to get out of the car for more than a minute.)

the morning after our arrival, we took a road trip to scottsbluff, nebraska. it was still chilly out, but i think we actually made it to 15 degrees..a veritable heat wave!

as you can see from that last picture (in front of scotts bluff), it was pretty windy outside, so we headed home.

fortunately, i was able to thaw out with the help of my new friends norma and duke, who gave me hot chocolate and warm cookies. (they're not in the picture, as i'd just finished wiping the last of the crumbs from my mouth right before it was taken.)

kansas city- there i went!

as i prepare to accompany duff to wyoming, i'm spending my morning sorting through some of the pictures i posed for during my recent trip to kansas city.

duff, nicole the gnome, and i stopped in the detroit airport on our way to kansas city. this was great, because i'd never been to michigan before. (32 states down,18 to go.)

here are a few pictures of the neat tunnel between terminals at the detroit airport:

at the other end of the tunnel, nicole and i found a really cool fountain. we begged duff to take a picture of us.

after drying off, we did a little window shopping on the way to our plane.

when we got to kansas city, i hung out with duff's dad while she waited for her suitcase to appear.

after nibbling on turkey and stuffing thanksgiving afternoon, we headed down to the plaza to view the lights.

the next day, we traveled to independence, missouri, to drive by harry truman's home.

while driving around, we also saw this interesting temple. i thought it looked sort of like a wizard's hat from afar.

that evening, we went out for some mexican cuisine with duff's friends jamie and ash.

after dinner, we drove over to ash's house, where i was reunited with g-cat, master of all he surveys.

the next morning, jamie picked us up and we went to the kansas city zoo.

the next day (monday the 28th), we drove to bonner springs, kansas, where i was introduced to a beautiful place- taco john's.

after returning home, i burned off a few calories playing in the snow.

which reminds me- has anyone seen my scarf? i hear it's pretty cold in wyoming right now.

special guest blogger

hi. my name is f-stop. my brother, bodhi, is out of town this weekend, but he gave me permission to post pictures of myself this weekend. (he said something about giving his fans something new to look at, lest they forget about him completely.)

anyway, yesterday, i went trick or treating at an event hosted by wnok.
i got to ride in the van,

help set up the table,

pass out stickers,

and hang out with djs (both present and future)

bodhi should be back in a couple of days. hopefully, he'll have some really good pictures from the far away land of ohio to share.

she's a lovely "bird", isn't she?

this past wednesday, i had the pleasure of meeting the lovely natasha bedingfield at another wnok function.

apparently, she's run into my kind before, as she asked if i knew some girl in great britain who also owned a gnomad. she was so excited that she posed for a couple of pictures with me.

she digs me.

oh, by the way, if you happen to be in the columbia area, this store has more of my kind in stock. duff said something about making some adoptions after she gets off work today.

(if you're elsewhere, you can find them here and here, among other online retailers.)

can i push the cart?

in less than 24 hours, i'm supposed to meet jesse mc cartney. all this excitement is enough to make a little guy like me hungry, so i tagged along on duff's latest trip to the grocery store.

you go ahead- i'll take a little rest here.

tomatoes, avocados, and kiwifruit- oh my!

it's about time they make a bodhi-sized pineapple.

anyone up for a game of squash?
